Watering

Watering is the basic need of all indoor plants but then also it is the hardest thing to understand in the right way. Overwatering can harm indoor plants; this is a quite common mistake. Don't water all the indoor plants on a fixed schedule but water them as per the plant based schedule or need.

Most indoor plants like watering constantly but don't over water the plant it can kill them. Allow the soil to dry out between watering. Use a pot with a proper drainage system.

Check the plant’s need for water by inserting your finger. If the top few inches of soil is dried out then it is time for watering. Rain water or distilled water are best for indoor plants. Don't use tap water because it contains salts and chemicals which can damage sensitive indoor plants.

Humidity

Maximum indoor plants love humidity. They dry when you put them outside during the summer season. Brown leaf tips indicate that the plant is not getting enough humidity. To maintain the humidity, mist the leaves occasionally

Light

Generally the best indoor plants don't require full sunlight; they can grow in low to medium light conditions. Plants which are not getting enough light will get leggy and weak. The color of the leaves also can disappear and they can look transparent.

In this situation move them to the Sunny window, too much light can fade the color of leaves, it will turn white, crispy Brown and also can be a victim of sunburn. keep them in a low light spot.

Temperature

Maximum indoor plants grow well in 60 to 75 Fahrenheit temperatures. Excess heat or cold can damage indoor plants. Place the indoor plants far away from heat sources like fireplaces, radiators and vents and cold sources too as air conditioner, cold drafty doors and in open Windows in the winter season.

If the plants are dropping leaves or it has turned black or crispy Brown, it is an indicator of abrupt temperature.

Soil

Don't use Garden soil, cheap dirt or outdoor container soil for your indoor plants; it can create problems with bugs, disease and mildew. General purpose potting soil, sandy soil mix and bark based soil are good options for growing indoor plants.

Repotting

To prevent indoor plants from being root bound or pot bound reporting is necessary. Never report an unhealthy indoor plant because it cannot tolerate that transplantation and can cause its death.

Spring is the best time for repoting. Use a container a few inches larger than the earlier pot and with drainage holes. Indoor plants may be droopy after reporting but don't worry.  Give it time and it will recover soon.

Fertilization

Generally indoor plants need fertilization during the spring and summer season. In the dormant season of fall and winter, plants don't need fertilization. If you provide fertilization in a dormant State it can cause stress and weak or leggy growth to the plant.

Organic fertilizers are a good option rather than synthetic chemical fertilizer. Using chemical based fertilizer and over fertilization can burn indoor plants or even kill them. Organic compost solution, general purpose plant food and  granular fertilizer are suitable for indoor plants.

Pruning

Regular Pruning not only makes your indoor plant’s look best but also encourages fresh growth. Trim off Dead leaves and brown leaf tips where necessary.
